       มาตรา ๕๒* ในการลดโทษประหารชีวิต ไม่ว่าจะเป็นการลดมาตราส่วนโทษหรือลดโทษที่จะลง ให้ลดดังต่อไปนี้
       (๑) ถ้าจะลดหนึ่งในสามให้ลดเป็นโทษจำคุกตลอดชีวิต
       (๒) ถ้าจะลดกึ่งหนึ่ง ให้ลดเป็นโทษจำคุกตลอดชีวิต หรือโทษจำคุกตั้งแต่ยี่สิบห้าปีถึงห้าสิบปี

Unofficial Translation

          Section 52. In the commutation of a death penalty, either in the scale of the punishment or in the punishment to be imposed, it shall be computed as follows: 

          (1) If the commutation will be one-third, the punishment shall be commuted to imprisonment for life; 

          (2) If the commutation will be one-half, the punishment shall be commuted to imprisonment for life or imprisonment for a term of twenty-five to fifty years.
